With a research consortium of seven full partners and five associates from academia and the industry, the project iSocial was lunched in late 2012 under the umbrella of the Marie Curie ITN framework. The project concerns the feasibility study and the development of a decentralized online social network with the objective of bringing back privacy and data control to where it should be: in the solemn hands of end-users.
The project parents twelve fellows between early stage and post-doctoral researchers. The STRICT Social Lab is one of the seven full partners of the project with two early stage researchers who work on privacy preservation services, access control mechanisms, trust, and risk management in decentralized social networks.
The project is expected to reach its goals by end of 2016. Promising results, interesting milestones, and pertinent side activities are planned to be achieved. For more details on the project, its achievements, and all its news, we refer to its official website available here.
